My best learning experience is the opportunity of being the overall camp IC for a day. Although I made a lot of mistakes, they have taught me a lesson and made me a better person. I have also learnt that being afraid of trying is going to bring me nowhere. The teachers and instructors supported me when I was an overall IC as I was feeling stressed. I would also like to thank the teachers and instructors because they were really patient with us, they have done a lot.
My best learning experience is the Rafflesia hike. I learnt to get back up after I fall and keep moving and not to give up. If I had given up, I wouldn’t know and won’t be able to relate to the beautiful experience that awaited me. The teachers and instructors were also a joy during the camp and they made the camp awesome. Without them, this camp wouldn’t be a memorable one.

The leadership camp was fun and enriching. I made new friends and learnt many new things. I hope to do the same next year. To tell the truth, when I knew that I was selected for the camp, I wasn’t interested at all and I came with no expectations. But during the camp, things changed and I changed too. The instructors were experienced and they taught many things. They helped me to improve on myself and the daily reflections helped me think of different solutions for other activities.
The teachers were protective of us and they were always in front of us. If we needed help, they were there to lend us a hand. I hope to have this same feelings of joy and fun next year when school begins and I am looking forward to learning new things.
The best experiences of this whole trip were the activities, such as waterafting , water abseiling , trekkings and caving. Throughout those activities, I have learnt that I have to be patient and to not give up too. I have also learnt how to be a better leader by taking up roles such as Team IC, Food IC and Safety IC. These roles helped boost my confidence. Before this trip, I wanted to be more confident. Whenever I wanted to do or achieve something, that was one of my main goals and I’m glad that I have managed to achieve it with the help of the instructors and teachers. I would sincerely like to thank all the teachers and instructors we put in their best to make this trip a memorable one for us. Hope to go for this trip again next year too:)
So long, Natasya Resort. Farewell, Gopeng! Thank you for the memories and the great lessons for our student leaders!
All good things must come to an end and it’s almost time for our leaders to bid Gopeng goodbye. But before that, our leaders gathered around the campfire to celebrate the friendships formed and the good times they’ve had together.
After lunch, our student leaders put their Food and Consumer Education (FCE) knowledge and skills to the test as teams competed against one another in a creative cookout challenge.
Our final hike on our Gopeng Trip was a scenic one. Our student leaders clearly enjoyed the hike as a team as they sang together and looked out for each other, reminding one another to hydrate themselves or to watch their steps.
Today, our student leaders carried out their plans to beautify some walls at Dahikmah Orphanage.
At the time of this post, their masterpieces are still in progress. Do check in later to see their completed pieces and messages to the youth here.
Ta-dah! Our students’ masterpieces showing their hopes for children in Dahikmah Orphanage.
Next up, our student leaders will play some games with the children 😃
